MHS baseball advances to 5-2 on the season after a big win against Palisade on Thursday.

The win comes after back-to-back wins against Eagle Valley last Saturday, in which the team won both games by more than 10 points.

“They played well, and we definitely had our heads in the game. We’re looking good so far this season and I’m hoping we can keep this win streak going,” head coach Landon Wareham said.

Despite having a young roster, with only five upperclassmen, the team has managed to compete with more veteran programs.

“We’ve got a great group of guys, and our underclassmen have really stepped up, especially in the outfield to help our team succeed,” Wareham said.

The team’s next game is scheduled for this Saturday in a double header against Durango High School.

“They’re a solid program, but we’ve got a pretty good shot,” Wareham said.
