MHS Track Headed to State

The MHS varsity track team is off to the 4A state championships in June after placing 2nd out of 7 teams at the Wild West Invitational in Grand Junction last Saturday.

Even with a dense 53-person roster, the team has managed to pull through in many key events.

“This is many of our guys’ first year doing track, and many have performed much better than we had hoped. Our relay teams have put in a ton of work this season and they’re part of the reason why ourprogram has done so well this season,” coach Kyle Miller said.

Unfortunately the Indians’ won’t be heading to state until June 24th, but it’s given the team some much needed practice time.

“There are still many things we need to work on before state, but I’m confident in our guys and I think we’ll be just fine,” Miller said.
