The Montrose High School football team has been given the opportunity to start their season on September 22 per CHSAA order. The decision was made late Wednesday night, and teams across the state have been given the option to play against league opponents.
“It’s great news, I’m happy we didn’t have to play in the spring and that we can finally start getting back into the hang of things,” junior Isaiah Alcazar said.
“I’m a little disappointed that our season will be ending later, when it’s even colder out, but the good outweighs the bad here,” senior Colten Brueggeman said.
The team is scheduled to begin practicing on September 22nd, with their first game being on October 9th against an unknown opponent.
“I’m anxious to get back on the field, but we still have a lot of things to iron out,” senior Trent Blundell said.
