The Montrose Indians boys golf team travelled to play at the Air Academy Invitational on Tuesday September 15th. The team won the tournament, making it 8 tournaments won in a row this year for the team. The boys will have Regionals on Monday September 21st.

Steve Skiff is the new coach leading the boys golf team this year, with this being his first year back after taking about 10 years off from coaching, he is looking to lead the reigning champs back to state.

“I’m very proud of how this team is doing this year, and it’s been fun watching so many talented players on this team do good every week,” Skiff said.

The Indians are definitely looking to win state again this year, as they go into regionals as 3 time defending champs in the 4A division. Jordan Jennings, a senior, has been on the state winning team all three times.

“I feel like this year we have yet another good chance of winning. This is a great team and I feel like when we go to Regionals it will really be a test to see if we can make it to State this year or not,” Jennings said.

The Indians take to regionals next week, and with how the season has gone so far with the team going undefeated, the players and coach have high hopes that they will take regionals and advance.

“I feel like we have a good chance this year, I feel like I personally have played pretty well and I know the team overall has played great,” Senior Kreed Martinez said.
