The Montrose High School football team has been granted their first opponent of the 2020 season, the Chatfield Chargers. Teams across the state have also been given their schedules for this upcoming season.

“It’s great news, I’m happy we didn’t have to play in the spring and that we can finally start getting back into the hang of things,” junior Isaiah Alcazar said.

“Chatfield is the real deal, if we don’t come ready to play, our season will get off to a really rough start,” senior Colten Brueggeman said.

“We’ve never played Chatfield, so some of us don’t now what to expect. All we can do is watch film and do our best to prepare,” senior Eli Evans said.

The team is scheduled to play Chatfield on October 9 at Chatfield.

“I’m anxious to get back on the field, but we still have a lot of things to iron out,” senior Trent Blundell said.
